CHALLENGE.
On my travel day to the Grand Canyon, I left my house early in the morning, around 3 am. I wanted to get there sometime in the late afternoon, giving myself time to shoot, right through sunset. I hadn't been to the Canyon for over 30 years and didn't remember any of it. With only a short time of light left, I had to find a place to shoot, that had nice evening light.

SOLUTION.
I did something I normal avoid. I followed the crowd of people walking to Mather Point, behind the Visitors Center. I figured that it had to be a short walk but good results could be possible. With my tripod and gear in hand I made my way to the rim, at the point. It was pretty full and the spot I liked, had some visitors standing there. By being patient and moving in when people left, I was in able to get were I wanted to be. As the sun went down the walls turned a beautiful red, making my wait with many others, worth while.
