The Haymen Fire closed Cheesman Lake to fishing for five years. On this day
it was finally opening and I was there to get some page one photos. Early in the morning is usually good for fishing and that's when I found Jeff fishing in his old favorite spot. To make it a moody shot, I took the exposure reading from the water, leaving Jeff as a silhouette. I didn't make the remains of the fire my main subject since we had had many images like that already but I did include it in the background of this shot.
