Colorado - "Together Forever"

  Around this time of the year I post a Christmas blog, but with my illness, I haven't been out there much.  So this year I'm posting this piece "Together Forever" of my art work. I took the photo and had a black and white print made. I then paint it with home made Q/Tips that I make out of cotton and tooth picks. This image was printed 24 x 36 inches on metal. It, looked so good that is sold at an auction, for "Walk With Me", for $1,000. It is dedicated to my wife, Pam.

Colorado - Frost Covered Trees.

After a night of fog, the trees were covered with a layer of frost. I went out and got some nice images.

Went up to Loveland Pass right after the first dusting of snow, of the season. The ground cover had changed and the snow was a bonus. It was a calm day so I was able to get nice selection shots on the small lake put there. This pass is 1 hour from my house.

Colorado - Day Tripper 10 - Mount Evans.

Mount Evans is about 2 hours from my home. It is the highest paved road in North America at 14,130 feet. We went up for sunset and the nice light and of course the wildlife. We didn't see anything all the way to the top. It was very windy and the animals might have bedded down already. Just before the sun went down, some mountain goats showed up. Pam, my wife and driver, didn't like the drive back down in the dark. The road has straight down cliffs, with no guard-rails.

Colorado - Perseids Meteor Shower from Guanella Pass.

 Pam and I took our daughter Kelley and her three girls, Sydney, Brooklyn and Zoe out to watch the Perseids Meteor Shower. We went up to the top of Guannella Pass. We arrived around 9:30 pm and set up our camp. It was a little cold at 11,670 feet so we bundled up in blankets and watched the show for the next 4 hours. It was fun bringing our grand children to something they had never seen before.

Colorado - Dallas Divide Summer.

 Went to the Dallas Divide to photograph summer in the area. With the drought I knew wildflowers would be few, but you can't go wrong being at the divide. I did find some flowers but nothing like it could be. Pam and I enjoyed the time spent there, it's such a great place, but it is very dry.
