Challenge.
In the last month I was able to photograph my seven grandchildren. The oldest is 6 years and the youngest is just months old. How could I get great photos of these young children.

Solution.
There are a number of things you can do to guarantee a better photo shoot of your younger children.
1. Go to a good location, someplace fun and scenic.
2. Make sure you ready shoot quickly, I use two cameras, one with wide angle and the other with
    longer glass.
3. Once I'm ready to go, I let the kids play and have fun, always looking for a nice moment,
    like the shot above.
4. After they play for a short time, I try to get the older ones to play the "Modeling Game" , where
they pretend to be models. These shots can be fun because you don't really know what they are
going to do most of the time.
5. The last thing I try to do is set up portraits. Sometimes they work and other times, no so good.
6. When we get done everybody goes and gets Ice Cream, the reward promised to them before the
    shoot starts.

Colorado's Grand Mesa Scenic Byway, Fall Colors.

"X Shot" information.

These photos were shot about two weeks ago on Colorado's Grand Mesa Scenic Byway. The Aspens were real nice and with all the rain, the grass was still green.  I was on the wester slope and heard that this area was near peak, so I checked it out. Everything looked great during a late afternoon shoot. I would think this area for fall colors is over but you might check out Ridgway and the Dallas Divide are now.

"X Marks the Shot" monthly photo blog is back up and running.

After six months of working for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, I will start up my photo blog called "X Marks the Shot". I was part of a selected group of photographers who photographed Colorado's State Parks. The job started in March and just ended last week. The 42 parks were divided into 7 regions, two were assigned to me. Region 2 (seven parks) was pretty much Denver area and Region 5 (seven parks) was central western slope. Living in Evergreen I was able to go to a Region 2 park whenever the conditions were good. Region 5 was visited once a month for a week, rain or shine.

The shoot was a enjoyable experience, metting many great people and seeing new areas of Colorado.

My first blog will be fall colors on Colorado's Grand Mesa Scenic Byway.

I will also be starting up "Weekend Flash Back" on Fridays.

My blog will not be weekly anymore, more like twice a month.
