While working for the Rocky Mountain News, myself and the photo staff won two Pulitzer Prize Awards, one for the Columbine shootings and the other for wildfires in Colorado. One main reason was getting to the event before the authorities closed it down. I shed a lot of tears covering these events and even got post-traumatic-stress, from Columbine. I'm grateful that news photography is behind me!
