Ken Papaleo: X Marks the Shot: Moon set over western Colorado Area.

Moon set over western Colorado Area.

"X Shot" information.
Camera - Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III
ISO - 400
Shutter Speed - 1/250 sec.
F/stop - 4.5
Lens 70/200 zoom

"X Shot" location and information.
1. These moon shoots were from the Grand Junction and Ridgway areas.
2. When photographing the moon, the best pictures happen when moonset is just before sunrise or
when moonrise is just before sunset.
3. At these conditions the moon looks bigger and the exposure for the moon and the surrounding scenery
    are almost the same.
4. You can find the moon phases and the times of rise and set on the internet to help you plan your shoot.

About Me

My photo
Evergreen, Colorado, United States
I worked for the Rocky Mountain News for 28 years, until they went out of business. I now do freelance work, post this weekly blog, ski and play with my four grand children. I still have the love to get out and take photographs, which brings me great peace and comfort.
