Ken Papaleo: X Marks the Shot: Photographing Pregnant Couples.

Photographing Pregnant Couples.

"X Shot"information
Camera - Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III
ISO - 500
Shutter - 1/250
f/stop - 8
Lens - 70/200 zoom

Challenge.
My daughter, Jamie and her good friend, Stepf, are both pregnant, do in September.  It was time to get photos of them and there husbands, Andy and Mike. If this happens to you, what can you do to get nice images.

Solution.
1. First thing is to find a nice location, in these shoots, Red Rocks and Lions park, Golden, were used.
2. Shoot in the morning or evening, for best light.
3. Use the elements that are available, rocks, grass, water and a nice sky, are just some examples.
4. If near a river, use a slow shutter speed, to blur the water.
5. Between "set up shots", watch for real moments, while getting ready for the next photo.
6. Most of the time the mom will have some kind of photo props to use, which adds a nice touch.

About Me

Evergreen, Colorado, United States
I worked for the Rocky Mountain News for 28 years, until they went out of business. I now do freelance work, post this weekly blog, ski and play with my four grand children. I still have the love to get out and take photographs, which brings me great peace and comfort.
