LOCATION.
1. Evergreen Lake is about 45 minutes from Denver.
2. Take Evergreen Parkway, off I-70, all the way south to the lake.
3. This was a Youth Pond Hockey Tournament.
4. The Lake is open to public skating, check their web page for days and times.
CHALLENGE.
To get a unique hockey shoot that shows this tournament.
SOLUTION.
A couple of week ago I did a blog on the preparations of the lake for iceskating. I had climbed up into the nearby golf course and got a nice angle. The same angle, this time, would let me show action going on four of the rinks. I pushed my ISO to 800, giving me the ability to use a high shutter speed (500), to stop the action and a f/stop of 16, allowing everything to be in focus. Than it was just waiting until action was going on all rinks.
